Badges and Achievements
Badges reward community members for reaching milestones and contributing in meaningful ways. They provide recognition and encourage participation.

Viewing Available Badges
Select Badges [1] in the left sidebar to see all badges available in the community. Each badge card [2-5] shows:
- The badge name (e.g., "Autobiographer", "Editor", "First Upvote")
- A description of how to earn the badge
- The number of times the badge has been awarded across the community
Badge Categories
Badges fall into several categories based on the type of activity they reward:
- Profile badges — Awarded for completing your user profile, such as the "Autobiographer" badge [2] for filling in your bio
- Editing badges — Earned by editing and improving content, like the "Editor" badge [3]
- Moderation badges — Given for community moderation actions, such as the "First Flag" badge [4] for reporting inappropriate content
- Voting badges — Awarded for voting on questions and answers, like "First Upvote" [5]
- Engagement badges — Earned through social interactions, such as reacting to posts with emoji reactions
Earning Badges
Badges are awarded automatically when you complete the associated activity. When you earn a badge, it appears on your user profile and adds to your community standing. Some badges can be earned multiple times (tracked by the "awarded" count), while others are one-time achievements.
Why Badges Matter
Badges serve as a public record of your contributions and expertise. They help other community members recognize knowledgeable contributors and build trust within the community.
